After a short delay of only two years, Attoparsec has finally extended its product line with the new Servo Control Board Kit! This kit provides two simple and easy ways to control RC servos the old-fashioned way -- analog. The Servo Control Board provides two different ways of controlling an RC servo:
1) You can attach a potentiometer to give direct control over the angle the servo is set to. This mode was used in the Self-Adjusting Electro-Mechanical Sunglasses to give an adjustable manual control. Other sources of variable resistance may also be used, such as a photoresistor.
2) You can use an on/off switch to swing the servo from one extreme of its movement to the other. This can be useful for automation and robotics. The board in this mode was used in the Cocktail Engine to open and close valves depending on the state of a punch card.
The kit includes the circuit board and components for building the base control circuit. It does not include an RC servo, switches or potentiometers. That's up to you.
The assembly instructions are provided online. Assembly is quite straight forward, requiring only moderate soldering skills.
